Our newest event is the Lone Ranger! Join in on the fun as America's favorite hero the Lone Ranger and his faithful companion Tonto save the train from Bandits!  Catch the excitment as the Lone Ranger returns to the GSMR in August! August 22 & 23 and August 29 & 30 - Saturday & Sunday - Departs  11:00 am, 1:00 pm & 3:30 pm.

Experience the ride of your life with one of our Locomotive Cab Rides.  In commeration of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park's 75th Anniversary, the GSMR is offering locomotive cab rides on Monday thru Thursday for $175.00!

RAILFEST 2009!  Three days of railroad fun!  Railroad enthusiasts and history buffs alike gather for three days of railroad fun!  Enjoy visiting equipment, motor car displays and musical performances.  Enjoy a 7th Annual Mountain Craft Fair featuring handmade crafts, pottery & artwork from regional artists.  If you are interested in joining the craft fair download a pdf Application & Festival Policies.

Train and Rafting packages with Nantahala Outdoor Center and Wildwater Ltd. begin in April and are great fun for the entire family!!  They are a great way to see our beautiful scenery from both rail and water!!
