The mission of The Storytelling Center of the Southern Appalachians at Bryson City is to collect, preserve, exhibit, interpret, and promote the musical and oral heritage of the area known as the Southern Appalachian mountains.

Through storytelling, exhibitions, public programs, publications, and special events, The Storytelling Center of the Southern Appalachians at Bryson City promotes the richness of Southern Appalachian art and culture.

We tell the tales, of the people, the mountains, the flora and fauna, the history and heritage, of this area, known as the Southern Highlands.
